The online social movement that seeks to revolutionise the way we think about au pairing will today launch its new home online for its growing international community.

Au pairs across the globe will today join forces as The Au Pair Movement goes live with its own private Facebook group exclusively for au pairs. The aim of the group is to offer support to current, future and ex-au pairs and connect au pairs on a global scale.

The group is open to au pairs from all countries who are looking to meet like-minded people. Casey May Aubin, Founder of the movement and moderator of the group says, “It can be hard to meet people as an au pair and even though we have friends and family that love us, sometimes you just need to speak to people who understand what you’re going through. That’s what the Facebook group is for.”

For those interested in joining, the group does have some rules that members need to abide by. Firstly, no advertising for family matches or agencies will be allowed to allow the group to remain independent. There are also guidelines around like requests and venting or complaining in ways that are not constructive for the greater group.

“The rules are in place to make sure that this is a positive, uplifting and supportive environment from the beginning. They also ensure the focus is on supporting each other so that all posts are relevant to everyone.” says Casey. “It’s going to be about sharing, connecting, learning and really growing from the experiences we go through – if we can get this right together, this is what will set it apart from other groups out there.”

In order to join the group all applicants will need to answer 3 membership questions. Namely, a multiple-choice question about your current au pair status, a question about your previous or future au pair experience and a question about receiving future email updates. Additionally, in order to be accepted the group rules must be agreed to. All requests will be reviewed individually and approved based on your responses. If any questions are left unanswered your application will be rejected.

“Our Instagram community is already doing exciting things and I really think this could be a historical moment for The Au Pair Movement” continues Casey. “We now have a platform for sharing. All beginnings are small but I know this is the start of something incredible and I can’t wait to see what this community is capable of. We are always stronger together.”

A limited number of early members who join and help grow the group will receive Founding member badges.
